Artist Talk with the creators of CURRENTS: A Virtual Reality Cinemalaya Experience
On 28 August 2021, the creators behind CURRENTS: A Virtual Reality Cinemalaya Experience, Da Young Ko, Mariah Reodica and The Buildings, had their talkback session as part of the 17th Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival.
The session started with Rica Estrada, head of the CCP Visual Arts and Museum Division, who gave a short introduction on the CCP VAMD’s virtual and 360 exhibits, past and present. Dayoung Ko, the 3D artist and animator of CURRENTS discussed the artistic and technical part of the virtual exhibition using Blender. He was followed by Mariah Reodica, who discussed the narration and environment design of CURRENTS. Along with her bandmates Dominic Zinampan and Kean Reformado of The Buildings, Mariah also talked about how they created the musical score of CURRENTS.
