The Gawad CCP Para sa Sining for Visual Arts 2020 is bestowed upon installation artist Luis E. Yee, Jr., widely known as Junyee. Junyee’s art has contributed immensely to our nation. In creating installations for the ordinary citizen, rising in public spaces, and featuring indigenous materials, he has stirred the bayanihan spirit, the sense of fellowship animating both small communities and the greater nation, as well as our own Filipino identity, while affirming the need to protect the ecologies of both nation and world for those who stand next in line.
