The CCP Coordinating Center for Dramatic Arts is embarking upon the National Drama Competition, a crucial first step in the development of programs for a deep and lasting appreciation of our local arts and Philippine culture through aesthetic and educational means. This inaugural effort to create awareness and art consciousness among the youth, on a national scale, will serve to acquaint them with their native culture, and provide alternative opportunities to explore and discover the range of human values so important in the education of the young to develop positive, solidarity- engendering attitudes towards one's neighbor, family, and nation.
