Brochure | Concerto de Aranjuez & Shostakovich No. 5
The most popular concerto for the guitar, Joaquin Rodrigo?s ?Concerto de Aranjuez? will be performed by Spanish guitar virtuoso Jacob Cordover with the Manila Symphony Orchestra (MSO) for its season finale on February 5, 2020, 7:30pm at the Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo (CCP Main Theater). The MSO, under the baton of Music Director and principal conductor Marlon Chen, will close the season with a performance of the monumental Symphony No. 5 by Russian composer Dmitri Shostakovich.
Melodie and Tempo di Valse for Orchestra, a masterpiece composed in 1935 for Manila Symphony Orchestra by Filipino-Spanish composer and military man Alejo Valdes will also be performed as we commemorate the 75th anniversary of his martyrdom during Manila?s liberation in 1945.
